Question 11:

Did God create a new Earth after the Gap?

All right. I'm Michael Pearl and we are here at The Door with question number 11 from your Bible questions you've sent in. If you have a question, send it in, and you can also go to our YouTube and find lots of hour-long teachings, 45 minute teachings, in great detail that answers many of these questions with much more scripture.

All right, here's the question our reader asked.

Question:

“I've read the new Gap Fact book and enjoyed it very much.”

 I enjoyed writing it.

“I'm certainly leaning toward The Gap Fact after reading. “

Well, when you start believing the scripture, you'll stop leaning and start clinging.

“I did have one question. Do you consider the recreated earth after the fall of Lucifer, a second earth?”

 This is an entrapment.

“If so, how would you connect that thought with Revelation 21:1 which says, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea."

This questioner points out that the scriptures clearly say that there was previously a first heaven, not a first and second heaven and earth. And so the new heaven and the new earth will be the second. It won't be the third. That's what they're saying.

Now, wouldn't I be foolish to say that the first and second, it was two earths before this one, and this is really onto the third. This is the second one. I mean, I'd have to be really foolish contradicting the scriptures, wouldn't I? So you're absolutely correct. The second heaven and the second earth, which comes in the future, implies only a first, not a first and a second.

Answer:

Now, the first earth, Genesis Chapter 1 and 2 was prior to the six days of creation. The Gap Fact points that out. Scripture's very clear on that. It's been the historical view of the church down through the ages.

And so Genesis Chapter One and Two is followed by a gap between verse three. Verse three is where God begins six 24-hour days of recreation. During that time, God restores the earth and tells Adam and Eve to replenish it. It's not a new earth, it's the same old earth. There's no record in Genesis Chapter One of God creating the earth in those six days. There's the assumption of its prior existence. So it is the same earth in a renewed state. Now, here is the scripture on the subject. Again, it's not my opinion, this is just Bible. The Bible shows a lot of light on our opinions.

2 Peter 3:6, "Whereby the world that then was,"  that's way back there, "being overflowed with water perished. But the heavens and the earth which are now by the same word are kept in store, reserved under fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."

So the world that then was, it was just one world, not two worlds, one world overflowed with water perished. You may think that's Noah. It was not. We don't have time to prove it here.

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise.”  Listen to this. “And the elements shall melt with fervent heat.”  So the future destruction is going to involve the very melting of elements. All the elements were present in Genesis 1:1-2, before the first day of creation, beginning in verse three. God makes an assumption of the presence of matter, of light, of energy, of water, of darkness. All those things were present but not formed. They were formless and void.

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in which the elements will melt with the fervent heat. The earth also in all the works therein shall be burned up."

The earth was not burned up formally. It was flooded. Prior to Noah's flood it was flooded and destroyed.

2 Peter 3:11 "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved."  So the next event will dissolve the elements themselves. That that means the atom itself will disintegrate. "What manner of person ought you to be in all conversation and godliness. Looking and hasting under the coming of the day of the Lord, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved." So this is a dissolution of matter. "And the elements shall melt with fervent heat."  So hotter than the face of the sun. The elements themselves will melt down into a boil. "Nevertheless, we, according to his promise, look for a new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness."  So there will be a new heavens, there will be a new earth because this one is polluted.

We recently polluted Mars. And so it'll have to be destroyed and recreated. Everything that man's touched will have to be recreated. Not that I'm against that, but wherever man goes, he takes his sin with him.

Isaiah 65:17“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth and the former shall not be remembered, not coming to mind."

Isaiah 66:22 "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain."

So that answers question 11. And if you get my book, The Gap Fact, you'll be startled to look at the historical evidence for the gap and the failure of the creation scientist to tell you the truth of the history and of the Bible.
